Minister of Magic

Dress: Ruche
Blouse:Vintage,ebay
Cuff links: Etsy
Shoes: Tic Tac Toes
Bag: Vintage

Hello blogging world! It's been awhile! I've been really terrible about taking pictures because my tripod broke, and I've been pretty busy with the holidays.  I'm going to try harder now all that is over!
Anyway, I got this dress around Christmas because it fit all my criteria of favorite things! It's velvet, red-ish, and can be layered with about anything! The shirt is something I got a few years ago because I got it in my head that I wanted to wear cuff links, and this was literally the only lady cuff link shirt I could find!  It's turned out to be one of my favorites because I love the extra added fanciness of the bow, but unfortunately it's not in the best condition.  The seams really like to break on it, and at one point, I swear they had both simultaneously ripped up the sides, leaving the sleeves the only thing holding my shirt together.  I've resewn it about a million times, but every time I wear it, something else rips! I just can't seem to get rid of it, however, because I've never found anything else like it, so I just put up with the constant resewing. The cuff links I got a few years ago, too, from a steampunk shop on etsy. I'm kinda obsessed with the aesthetics of steampunk, and although I don't think I'd ever be able to do the full steampunk regalia, I like the idea of incorporating bits of it here and there!
I hope everyone had a good holiday! I didn't get many pictures of mine, but I was able to snap a few here and there, so I will try to put those up soon!

  1. I LOVE steam punk! I was literally just talking about steam punk over the weekend... at comic con in Calgary this year, the steam punks by far had the best costumes. I love your red velvet dress! That coat reminds me of Hogwarts. Happy new year!

  6. That's CRAZY that your blouse rips so often. I would not be able to put up with that at all, but I agree that it's cute! Love love love the dress. Velvet and red and a nipped in waist always win for me!
