New Wave

Dress: vintage
Shoes: asos
Bow: vintage

I bought this dress a few months ago on etsy because it looked like the blue dress Anna Karina wears in "A Woman Is a Woman," although I think I like mine even better because it has rhinestones on it.  I had big plans to wear it to fancy places, but so far I've only worn it around inside.  I'm hoping I'll find a place fancy enough to wear it before it gets too warm and I have to put away for the season.  Anyway, hope everyone had a great start to 2015!

Fuzzy Sweater Dreams

Sweater: Forever21
Skirt: vintage

I hope everyone had a great holiday! I'm not sure I'm ready for it to be over because there are still so many sparkly dresses I wanted to wear to fancy holiday parties! I guess there's always next year!

A few months ago, I rewatched The Girl on a Motorcycle and became slightly obsessed with finding a fuzzy vintage sweater similar to the one Marianne Faithfull wore.  I searched forever and had no luck finding one until I went to Forever21. I try not to shop there anymore, but I needed a pair of tights, so I decided to make the exception and go take a look.  As soon as I entered the store, I realized all my fuzzy sweater dreams had come true, so I came out with zero tights and two new sweaters. Anyway, this is my best attempt at The Girl on a Motorcycle outfit.

Black Cat

Blouse: vintage
Bow: vintage
Skirt: Vintage
Shoes: ASOS

I put this outfit together with Christmas in mind and I have to say it's one of my favorites right now, although it might make me look a bit like a sickly Victorian school child.  I just can't pass up a good bow!

I hope everyone has a happy holiday! I will be spending mine at a brunch buffet at a lodge on a river.  I can't wait to stuff myself with everything!

Holly Berry

Skirt: vintage
Blouse: vintage
Headband: made by me

I started this Ulyana Sergeenko inspired headband a few weeks ago and I finally finished it in time for Christmas! I've made another attempt at making one of these headbands, but it was more like a fascinator.  This is actually attached to a headband, so it will be easier to wear, although I'm not too sure I'll wear it out of the house much.  It's a tad dramatic and I already get enough side-eyes as it is. I was hoping maybe I could wear it to a Christmas party, but since Christmas is 3 days away, I doubt I will get the chance.  I'll just have to twirl around with it in my bedroom!

My velvet skirt was something I've been eyeing at one of my favorite vintage stores for like 2 years. I've tried it on several times, but it was originally $75, which is a little steep for my librarian budget. Sadly, the store is going out of business, so I got it for 40% off.  I'm pretty happy with it and I've worn it a few times already!
