 Dress: Vintage
Shoes: Sole Society

I repainted my room a couple of weeks ago on a whim because I was tired of the lavender color and wanted something a little brighter, so I picked out mint green, but it turned out a lot more vibrant than I thought it was going to be (although it's hard to tell in these photos). I like it, though! Thanks to one of my friends, I was able to finish it in one day! It's a wonder what a new coat of paint can do! I also found a table to put my crafts stuff on. Now I don't have to spread it out all over my floor now! Hooray! Aaand, I coincidentally found a Hello Kitty sewing machine that matches my room, although I picked that out before I painted my room! Now I just have to learn how to use it.

These pictures turned out dark, but taking pictures in my room is always so awkward. I always think it's going to be a good idea before I do it, because then I can just awkwardly stand around in my room instead of awkwardly standing around outside, but my windows face East, and there never seems to be a good angle to get the light.  There's a lot of stuff around my room, so there usually isn't space for my big, clunky tripod.  But, here they are anyway! I thought it might be nice to capture some of the stuff I have around my room.  The crazy picture of the cat above my tiny bookshelf was made by my grandma a long time ago, and I recently found it in my closet and decided to hang it up. It's probably one of my favorite things in my room right now!

Mother's Day

Here are some pictures from our Mother's Day celebration today! My sister and I took our mom out for high tea at the Ritz and we had a great time! It was such a perfect day, I wish it could have lasted two days! I wore this vintage dress that I've been itching to wear, and this awesome gold shell purse! Anyway, I hope everyone else had a special Mother's Day, too!
p.s. Did anyone see the Great Gatsby yet? I felt pretty 'meh' about the whole thing.  While it did leave me with a hankering to go to party immediately afterward and throw glitter around, I felt like some of the artistic license they took with the scenes was just weird. It felt almost like a made for T.V. movie at some points. I mean, were the words really necessary? But, it did do a good job of entertaining me for two hours or however long it was, so I guess there's that! Any thoughts?

Blue Lagoon

Dress: Vintage
Belt: Vintage
Bag: Vintage
Shoes: Urban Outfitters

Spring is slowly coming to St. Louis (albeit verrrrry sloooowly), and I'm finally able to wear dresses without tights some days! I've been doing this preemptively for a while because I'm tired of trying to coordinate tights with my outfits, but it feels good to not be shivering anymore! I got this dress a week or so ago along with another one at one of my favorite local vintage haunts. I've considered buying it since the first time I saw it in the shop about a year ago, and I was always amazed that it was still there when I went in.  I finally took that as a sign and broke down and bought it. I'm glad I did because I've worn it at least three times since then! My super awesome beaded purse that I call my 'mermaid purse' is probably my favorite thing in my closet right now.  I like it so much that I almost don't want to take it out of my closet because I don't want it to get ruined! It's in perfect condition! But I always break down and use it because it's just too darn pretty to leave sitting in its hiding place.
Anyway, not much else has been happening around these parts. I lost my mind yesterday and decided to paint my entire room on a whim, so now my back and neck are really sore, but I'm glad I did it! It's now a very bright minty green color.  Hopefully there will be pictures to come, but for some reason, I never really like how pictures in/of my room turn out, so we will see! Other than that, I've just been crafting it up, and working on trying to get stuff back into the etsy shop! It's been a while, but I've got a lot of ideas now! I wish my hands could work as fast as my brain!

Clever Girl

Dress: HolliePoint
Hat: HolliePoint
Shoes: Madewell
Belt: Forever21
Purse: Vintage

I bought this dress online a few months ago while I was dreaming of warmer weather, and I've finally gotten to wear it! I love the crazy print on it, and it's super lightweight, so I'm hoping I'll be able to wear it into summer.
This weekend I went to see Jurassic Park in 3-D! I've been anticipation watching it in theaters for a few months and it did not disappoint! Just as good as the first time around! Although I'm retrospectively angry they killed off all the cool characters (besides Jeff Goldblum) and left all the annoying ones alive.  Anybody else see it yet?

Glitter Bomb

Last week was Erin's birthday, so to celebrate, we decided to fill balloons with glitter and then pop them at our friend Zach's with his kitchen knives.  It's hard to tell from the pictures, but it was beautiful!

Birthday girl!

sparkle on sparkle

Dress: Etsy
Tights: American Apperal
Shoes: Tic Tac Toes
Hair comb: DIY

Pretty much anything that is shiny or covered in glitter is something that I will automatically buy before thinking about whether it's something I need or not. I am the magpie of all magpies, especially when it comes to clothing. I saw this dress on etsy about a month ago and bought it before even considering if I need another party dress (I don't).  White metallic lace was just too much to pass up for me, plus the price was right. Being the impulse buyer and wearer that I am, I couldn't wait to wear this dress until it got warmer, so I decided to go overboard and pair it with my most sparkly and shiny things.  So basically I look like a giant ball of glitter, but that's pretty alright with me. Do you know how hard it is for me to not cover myself in glitter every single day?! Sometimes you just have to roll with your impulses.

These pictures were taken in Alton, IL, just up the road from where I live and supposedly one of the most haunted places in the U.S. It sits on bluffs right next to the Mississippi, and has tons of old beautiful houses that are also extremely creepy.  There is some cool folklore/history that goes along with the city, like the Piasa bird, Robert Wadlow (tallest man to ever live!), and an old confederate prison that now lies mostly in shambles. It's a fun place to visit with lots of antique malls, although half of them are supposed to be haunted!

Annie

Dress: Vintage
Shoes: LuLu's
Belt: Vintage

Ummm, did anyone watch Downton last night? I don't want to spoil it for those who didn't, so I won't say anything, other than WUT?! I don't want to wait another year to pick up on that storyline! Gah!
Anyway, I hope everyone had a good weekend! Nothing too exciting here! I've been hanging out and working on crafts. I'm trying to finish up a book, too, called The Diviners. Has anyone read it? I like it a lot so far!
