Jacket : Vintage
Shirt: Urban Outfitters
Pants: H&M
Shoes : Modcloth
Ring: Lucky Brand
I found this jacket at a vintage shop in St. Louis for $4, and I think it might be one of my favorite purchases ever. It's one of those jackets that go with traditional Austrian or alpine dress. It's trimmed with black velvet and applique (I think that's what it's called?), and the lining has all these tiny alpine flowers on it. Needless to say, I'm in love with it, and although it feels pretty big on me, I want to wear it all the time! The guy at the cash register must have though it was pretty awesome, too, because when he saw how much it was, he got upset and said it should be worth "like a million dollars." Haha, oops! Also, I'm wearing another favorite thing of mine, my eagle ring. I saw it at the Lucky Brand store, and I knew I had to have it because it screamed "FREEDOOOOM" at me. Well not literally, but that's the first thing that came to mind when I saw it, and I love obnoxiously large rings, especially when it involves a giant eagle.
Lately, I've become obsessed with Downton Abbey. I'm so envious of their fabulous clothes and super fancy hair! It doesn't make me wish I lived back during that time period, but it does make me wish people were still that fancy on a regular basis. Plus, Matthew Crawley is a dream boat, am I right? Has anyone else watched it?
Love love love the stripes!

If you want the jacket to fit better take it to a tailor. A good tailor is a must have. If people think the jacket is great now, it'll be stunning after being tailored.
ReplyDeleteI saw this post on Modcloth and I was just clicking around your blog. All the backgrounds looked so familiar so familiar to me, then I read that you're in St. Louis! Me too! It's great to see another STL blogger around!
ReplyDeleteP.s. this jacket is beautifully styled. I love the striped shirt.
